SHALE GAS, LOW OIL PRICES THREATEN LNG PROJECTS

The Shale gas boom and the recent drop in crude oil prices in the global market constitute major threats to the development of Liquefied Natural Gas projects still awaiting Final Investment Decision, analysts have said.

Three LNG projects are currently awaiting FID in Nigeria. Olokola LNG, Brass LNG and Train 7 projects have over the past few years continued to await FID by the stakeholders on the projects, even as some have pulled out of the projects
