EWT FABRICATES PILES FOR TOTAL’S $15BN EGINA PROJECT

A subsidiary of the Obijackson Group, Energy Works Technology Limited, has completed the fabrication of nine Oil Loading Terminal buoy anchor mooring piles for the Egina field development by Total Upstream Nigeria Limited. The piles were inaugurated on Tuesday during the load-out and sail-away ceremony at Nestoil Industrial Area, Abuloma Jetty, Port Harcourt.

EGINA, OTHERS APPROACH FINAL CONSTRUCTION PHASES

Jeremy Beckman, in this report, explained that despite the recent fall in oil price, Total Exploration & Production Nigeria, has forged ahead with the  construction of three giant deep offshore projects in Nigeria, Republic of Congo and Angola. He noted that all three projects have reached final construction phases and will begin operations soon.

The Egina offshore Nigeria is projected to go onstream in 2018, followed by Moho Phase 1b in Republic of Congo in 2017 while Kaombo’s two FPSOs in block 32 offshore Angola will start up in 2017 and 2018. According to Total’s E & P Secretary General for Africa, Abiodun Afolabi, “there has never been any question of suspending activity., and Total will maintain its commitments, while ensuring that all three projects are profitable.”

NIGERDOCK DELIVERS $16BN TOTAL’S EGINA FLARE TOWER

Nigerdock has stated that it has successfully completed fabrication and the sail away of the Flare Tower for the Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Project for Total, at the cost of $16billion. Nigerdock in a statement in Lagos, said the FPSO is being developed for deployment in the Egina oil field, located 150km off the coast of Nigeria.

EGINA FPSO CONTRACT: COURT TO HEAR CONTEMPT PROCEEDING MARCH 27

A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has fixed March 27, 2015 to hear the contempt proceedings initiated against Samsung Heavy Industry Nigeria Limited and Total Upstream Nigeria Ltd, over their alleged disobedience of an order of the court that parties in the controversial floating production storage and offloading unit in Egina Field within OML 130 contract should maintain the status-quo.

 Defendants in the suit are the Attorney General of the Federation; National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NPIMS), Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board (NCDMB) Samsung Heavy Industry and Total Upstream.
