NIGERIA OIL OUTPUT RISES TO 1.9 MILLION BPD DUE TO RESPITE FROM ATTACKS – NNPC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has announced that the country’s oil production has risen to about 1.9 million barrels per day, b/d, from 1.6 million b/d, due to repairs and more than a week having passed since a major pipeline attack in the Niger Delta region.
Militants in the region who say they want a greater share of Nigeria’s oil wealth to go to the impoverished Delta region have carried out a spate of attacks on pipelines in the last few months.
